All Black Everything

It's half term guys! Which means I'm spending my Monday in bed with my boyfriend being deliciously lazy. 2 weeks off, being a teacher has it's bonuses for sure!

Now you may recognise these culottes from a previous post but I thought I'd style them in more of a formal way this time and if I'm being honest I live in them so I may as well reflect this in my blog! I absolutely love them, it is so easy to dress them down with a pair of pointed flats or trainers or to dress them up with a stunning pair of heels like I have done here. At the minute Lavish Alice can do no wrong in my eyes, I love them!

Speaking of stunning heels, these are one of my two new pairs from my favourite store, Dune. I have 3 pairs of court shoes from them now but honestly I could easily have plenty more. They are so gorgeous, stylish and comfortable. I know some may feel that £70-£90 is a lot to spend on shoes but for me Dune are worth me spending that little more on.

I finished off the look with a comfy black chiffon top from Mango (who I'm obsessing over currently), my sunnies and of course my fave 'Charlie' and Thomas Sabo necklaces.

Happy 1st Birthday

So today is Seasons Come and Go's 1st birthday! Yes that's right, I started this tiny slice of the internet a year ago today. I literally can't tell you how quickly the time has gone and how much my blog has grown, as well as completely changed my lifestyle and outlook of media and publicity.

I completely believe that bloggers are the future and will take over the world one day. It would seem fashion/beauty bloggers are creeping out of the woodwork left, right and centre nowadays, which is both a good and bad thing. If you're dedicated and determined to grow and nurture your blog then go for it, but I feel like some newbies don't understand that it takes time to establish yourself in an industry that is spilling over with enthusiasts. If you're going to give up after the first couple of months because you haven't received any free things or your followers are low then get out of the game now. Please, if you are going to take anything from this post then take this... do not start a blog just to get free things. Private messaging me on Instagram asking how I get free things and when I started to get them is the most frustrating thing for a blogger to hear, (I'm sure the community will agree with me.) I did not start my blog to get free things. In fact, I started my blog to express my love and passion for fashion and put my excessive spending to good use. Yes, once you've spent the time establishing your blog and working hard to impress and inspire your readers, you may be contacted by companies who will be willing to send you some samples. This is great by the way! Being sent beautiful clothes and make-up is fab but it's the relationships you are making with companies and PR which is the magical part.

Ladies and gents, blogging isn't easy. It's damn hard work, especially when you're battling obstacles such as a full time job, the weather and strict deadlines. You may also find some companies try and treat you like you're solely an advert/promotional tool and not give you the respect/funding you deserve. Fortunately this is a rarity and 99% of the companies I have collaborated with have been a pleasure to work with! Yes blogging isn't a walk in the park, but it is one of the best things I have ever done. The blogging community on a whole is fiercely supportive and the girls I have met through it will be my friends for life. The beauty of a blog (a part time one anyway), is that you can post when you like, with the content you choose! If I fancy taking a couple of weeks off to focus on my job or social life then I will. But believe me, I will always come back here and share my life with you all.

It's a year down the line and I am still obsessed with the brand I have created and blogging is now a massive part of my life. I am super excited to see what this next year will bring!

Watch this space!!

Double Denim

That's so 70s! So unless you have been living under a rock since LFW you will know the massive trend that is descending upon us is the 70s. Flares, denim, suede are all combinations of the trend that I absolutely adore. I've already featured some flares and a bit of suede this season on my blog but expect to see some more. I've gotten my hands on an amazing suede jacket from Mango that I can't wait to style up!

For this post I am focusing on denim and committing what would be classed as 'fashion suicide' not long ago by showcasing double denim! I personally think DD is pretty cool and do not consider it to be a faux pas (at the moment).

I recently bought a fair few bits in Mango, this denim shirt being one of those pieces. They had it in a light version as well but I thought darker denim would be easier to wear. I paired the shirt with my trusty joni jeans in light blue, as well as my gorgeous Zara cut out boots and my new 70s style bag. I love this bag, the block colours of black, brown and tan are what screams 70s to me. It's amazing and super affordable!

Jewellery wise I'm rocking my Love Silver 'Charlie' necklace, (so very Carrie Bradshaw!) Expect to see this in many a post to come, I literally don't take it off. I'm also wearing my new chevron ring from Orelia which should be a midi ring but I have such small figures it acts as a standard ring, regardless it's still beautiful!

Dress Down For Work

Friday evening is upon us. I'm home from work with my feet up, Friends on and a glass of red in hand. What's better?

This has been a long awaited outfit post, it really is so frustrating when you don't have the time to shoot or your photographer father decides to have a life. Urgh, anyway I've had this outfit planned for a while. I have started working with Etail PR the blogger network platform which is exciting and I was approved on the Another 8 London campaign and was gifted this amazing bomber jacket. I love Another 8 and their collection so it was right up my street.

I styled the bomber with a pair of jersey black flares. Now I ordered these from Asos in size 8 petite because the normal ones were out of stock, however I really could have done with the non-petite version for the length! I'm 5 ft 4" and with bare feet the length is fine but with heel they come up a little short which I'm not loving to be honest, so keep that in mind if you fancy ordering them. Bonus, they are super comfy and flattering on! I also wore an oversized white shirt open with a white cami underneath. My trusty fluffy clutch and my pointed Zara boots to finish off the look!

I look at this outfit and see workwear? Maybe a dressed down workwear but still, I class it as quite smart. What do you think?
